This was an international design competition which Hopscape won.

 

Veduta means “view” in Italian. Villa Veduta is a composition of  independent villas and terraces that orient themselves to the unparalleled views, or focal points, the site has to offer: the lake, the lake-top islands - Isola Bella, Isola  Madre, and Isola Superiore - the Baveno quarry, the hills and hillside villages on the other side of the lake. Each of the 8 villa has its own directional view oriented towards a key feature.

 

Inspired by historic Italian lake and seaside towns which grow organically up steep slopes, the apartment villas seamlessly climb up this lakeside hill, tucking themselves into the landscape. The composition of the villas not only allows for panoramic views, but at the same time maximizes privacy for each unit. These private, focal views can be engaged with from every room and space in each villa: one can dine with the view, dance with the view, and dream with the view.
